Lake ruby
Lake Ruby is a 19-acre gravel pit, set in the heart of the Champaign Region in France near the small village of Martinicourt Goncourt. Approximately 3 1/2 hours drive from Calais, Lake Ruby really is in the ideal location for a French carp fishing holiday venue.
You couldn’t imagine the amount of hard work that has gone into making this French carp fishery become a reality. There is a full-time on-site bailiff and have really put their hearts and souls into this project. With the modern carp angler in mind from the outset, sizeable swims have been constructed around the lake to ensure maximum comfort during your weeks stay. Want to fish with a pal? Not a problem! Most swims at Lake Ruby can easily host two bivvies or shelters.
With typically 10 anglers fishing per week, you’ll certainly get your fair share of water and always have the opportunity to move swims should you wish. The draw for swims is on Saturday at 13:00 (French time). The usual amenities such as mains electric for your charging requirements, an anglers bait freezer, toilets, hot shower and washing facilities are all available on site.
Approximately 100 carp were stocked in January 2019, with the largest of the residents now weighing 60+. Further stockings of carp of Euro Aqua strain took place during the winter of March 2023 as part of an ongoing stocking program, so it is estimated there are 300+ carp in total.

A deposit of £200 is required to book a space on this lake with full payment 10 weeks before date of travel. Payment plans are available on request. trips to ruby lake are collection of fishing gear and yourself to and from the lake and a weeks fishing, food is available at the lake for a additional cost and can be arranged. availability is as follows

Here at Lac Rose we offer you a stunning 6½ acre lake nestled amongst the beautiful fields and vineyards of Frances Champagne region for carp fishing. Only a comfortable and direct 3½ to 4 hour drive from the popular crossings chosen by most at Calais. Situated between the cities of Troyes and Sens and accessible to all local amenities you may require on your trip to us.
We offer an impressive stock of beautiful French carp for you to target from a feature filled lake offering depth changes, lake bed variations and outstanding tree, and reed lined margins making us comparable to an English estate lake filled with big French carp.
We currently boast 1 70plus carp 4 carp into the mid 60lb range with around 25 different verified fifty pound fish, several of which are illusive 50lb commons.The impressive figures don’t stop there as we also offer a remaining stock of carp of which 25-28% are over 40lb ensuring that once you are amongst the fish, a biggie is never far away. These fish are of course only the verified stock so who knows what else could be lurking in this picturesque venue.
The lake is offered on an exclusive basis only for a maximum of up to 6 anglers with a choice of 5 double swims of which to choose from. On site facilities include a newly erected shower with separate toilet, a communal shelter and solar charging points for guests use.
Food packages are also available for pre order as well as any bait required to make your trip as hassle free as possible.
We do allow bait boats on the lake and they are available for hire if they are required.
